Meet the Rhyller Thriller Team.

The seeds for Rhyller Thriller ( originally described as the bastard love child between a film festival and a horror convention) we're first planted when Chad was asked to help out with a local charity. They predominantly ran youth film festivals and whilst taking part in these offered Chad the chance to run a monthly horror film night which allowed people to watch classic horror films at extremely affordable prices. After realising a community was growing and chewing at the bit for more of the same Rhyller Thriller was born as a showcase for horror films of all levels. from £50 micro shorts all the way to big budget films and Hollywood directors as guests.

Chad Jones

''The Founder''

Meet Chad, the original day one founder of Rhyller Thriller. Chad's undeniable life long love of horror ( starting with a sneaky viewing of the exorcist at age 5) is only challenged by the undying love he has for his home town. Living in one of the very poorest towns in the country and having a love for the arts isn't normally an easy mix but Chads passion and drive has led to our second festival in 2024, two short films, and a burgeoning film club. In his sunlight ours this creative force owns a tattoo studio and enjoys spending his time traveling with his wife, son and miniature dachshund Gus.

Tomos Rowlands

''Second in Command''

Tom, the team's second-in-command, is the mastermind behind the festival's name. With a deep passion for film due to his background as an actor, he is dedicated to bringing cinematic experiences and insights to his hometown of Rhyl, a place he deeply cherishes. Tom, known for his linguistic skills, is responsible for most of the posts you see and keeps the group grounded, ensuring Chad and Jason remain focused. During his free time, Tom enjoys spending quality moments with his family. His passion for film shines through in the carefully curated selection of movies that cater to a diverse audience, from classic cinema lovers to fans of the latest indie releases. Beyond his role in the festival, Tom's warmth and charisma make him a beloved figure in Rhyl. In essence, Tom's unwavering enthusiasm, creativity, and genuine love for his community make him an indispensable part of the festival and a cherished member of the team.

Jason Jones

''The Third Musketeer''

Welcome to the learning tree (although I suppose Jason is his given name) Jason is the third musketeer in this trio of terror and he is undeniably, indisputably invaluable to the team. An absolute fountain of knowledge to the younger Chad and Tom he has held his own in horror debates with directors, actors and even the indomitable Kim Newman. Jason is our compere at the film festival and runs the Q&A's he is the epitome of modesty and is a friend to all. If you get the chance, search him out and listen to him speak. You will not regret it.
